The Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) is a foundational two-year program designed for individuals aspiring to enter the field of pharmaceutical sciences. It provides essential knowledge of pharmacy practice, covering subjects such as pharmaceutics, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical chemistry. Upon successful completion of the academic coursework, students must undergo mandatory practical training comprising 500 hours of hands-on experience in a hospital or licensed pharmacy, to be completed over a minimum of three months. This internship bridges theory and practice, helping students develop dispensing skills, patient counseling techniques, and an understanding of drug interactions. Recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), the D. Pharm qualifies graduates to register as pharmacists and pursue careers across diverse healthcare settings.
