About Aisect
The All Indian Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT) was established 31 years ago with a novel concept of spreading computer literacy and technology training among rural populations in their mother tongue. Today, it is the leading national network of ICT-enabled services, operating over twenty thousand centers across 28 states and 3 union territories of India.
Over the years, AISECT has expanded its operations from vocational training and computer literacy to include skill development, financial inclusion, content development, e-learning and e-governance projects, higher education institutions, and placement activities. AISECT has established three universities so far: Dr. C. V. Raman University at Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), AISECT University at Patna (Bihar), AISECT University at Jharkhand (Hazaribagh, Jharkhand). The establishment of another university at Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh) is currently in the pipeline.
AISECT’s outstanding contributions have been widely recognized and lauded by national and international organizations. It has received numerous prestigious awards year after year, including the Indian IT Innovation Award (2005), NASSCOM IT Innovation Award (2006), i4d Award (2007), Golden Icon in e-Governance Award, NASSCOM Emerge 50 Leader Award, TiE Lumis Partners Entrepreneurship Excellence Award, Schwab Social Entrepreneur Award (2010), Financial Inclusion Award (2011), e-gov India Award (2011), Skoch Corporate Leadership Award (2013), Financial Inclusion and Payment Systems Award (2013), and was ranked 27th among the fastest-growing mid-size businesses in India (2013). It was also voted among the top 100 franchises in 2010 and 2013.
The Hindi science magazine of AISECT, Electroniki Apke Liye, has received several honors, including the Rajbhasha Shield Samman by Rashtriya Hindi Academy, Rameshwar Guru Award, Rashtriya Rajbhasha Prachar Samman, Bhartendu Award, and Saraswat Samman. AISECT has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to impart skill training to thousands of youth through its centers in rural areas across the nation.
