Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) Program is offered over two semesters with a total of 1250 marks. It comprises 10 papers, including two practical papers, one Project/Dissertation/Internship with Viva Voce, and one skill course spread across two semesters. The undergraduate programme covers both foundational and emerging concepts in library and information science. Key areas of study include Classification, Cataloguing, Information and Communication Technology, Library Management, and Information Storage and Policy. The curriculum emphasizes practical training and hands-on experience in library operations. Students gain essential skills in information organization and user services. This one-year BLIS degree prepares graduates for entry-level professional roles in libraries and information centers.
