Eligibility : - After passing the HSC examination with maths/commerce.
Duration : - Three years divided into six semesters with two semesters in each year.

Overview

B. Com (Hons.) is an undergraduate degree program of the duration of three years divided into six semesters with two semesters in each year. It is different from the normal B. Com course despite these two courses belong to the same academic field.

B. Com (Hons.) is a combination of commerce and business studies. The course curriculum focuses on building business acumen, managerial skills, and business analytics along with financial and accounting knowledge. The main subjects of this degree program are statistics, economics, finance, cost accounting, English, human resource, law, marketing, accountancy, computer science, management and more. Apart from infusing traditional knowledge from the textbooks, students are also given case studies and extensive project assignments to develop and enhance critical thinking approach for solving real problems of the trade and business.

Master of Commerce (M. Com)
Eligibility : - B. Com with 45% marks for Gen. and 40% for OBC/SC/ST
Duration : -Two years divided into four semesters with two semesters for each year

As a result of completing this program, students should be able to

  • Apply knowledge skills and ethical perspectives relevant to core business areas, including marketing, statistics, financial accounting, management accounting, finance, economics, information systems, strategic management, organizational behavior, and commercial law
  • Specific skill technical and quantitative aspects of management related to financial services, including the study of financial markets, financial instruments and investment decision-making, as well as the analysis of alternative methods employed by institutions and individuals to obtain, manage and use capital.
  • Apply knowledge organizations and management processes, by showing that they can take a global perspective regarding accounting procedures and practices, for both descriptive and prescriptive purposes.
  • Apply knowledge will work effectively in teams, by exhibiting the kinds of behaviors that mark an effective team member: working co-operatively with others, accepting divergent views, encouraging active participation of others, dealing productively with conflict, and taking leadership roles as the need arises.
